Biography

Dr Peyton’s initial registrar training years were spent at John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, before he returned to his home state of Queensland to complete a fellowship at Pathology Queensland’s Central laboratory at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.His current areas of professional interest reflect the focus of various research projects in the fields of gastrointestinal, head and neck pathology, oral pathology, soft tissue pathology, general surgical pathology and cytology.Gaining fellowship with the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia, he initially worked as consulting histopathologist and cytopathologist at Helix Pathology, furthering his experience in gastroenterology, cytology and solid tumour pathology. Joining QML Pathology in 2015, his professional interests have since extended to include skin pathology.
