Do I need to see a Doctor before attending for a COVID test?
YES. A request form is required from your doctor for COVID-19 testing unless directed otherwise by a Public Health Order.
I have a seen a doctor, what next?
If your doctor has given you a request form, bring it with you to one of our COVID-19 testing locations.
If your doctor has emailed you a request form, print the request form and bring it with you to one of our COVID-19 testing locations.
If you do not have access to a printer;
a) Your Doctor can fax your request form to (07) 3121 4155, indicating which COVID-19 testing location you will be attending, or;
b) Your Doctor can email your request form to the email address listed for the specific COVID-19 testing location you will be attending.
Who can be tested, and where?
Children of all ages can be tested at our drive-through locations.
Drive-through locations can only be attended by vehicle, we cannot accept foot traffic.
Walk in patients must attend a dedicated COVID-19 collection centre.
Getting Results
If you would like your results sent to you via SMS, please read our Patient Results by SMS for more information.
After your test
As per public health guidelines, patients are required to self isolate until a negative result is received. Patients should be advised by their GP regarding release from isolation.
COVID-19 Testing for Travel
Countries, airlines and cruise lines around the world now require a negative COVID-19 PCR test result before travel.
Visit our COVID-19 pre-travel test site. Please note, no Medicare rebate is available for COVID-19 travel testing.
Travel to China
People travelling to China must undertake COVID-19 PCR and COVID-19 IgM testing prior to departure.
Travellers can visit our pre-travel test site to pay for their test and present at our central laboratory in Murarrie for testing:

COVID-19 Affected Areas and mandatory testing
From 1am AEST Friday 30 July 2021 freight and logistics operators who have left the confines of the heavy vehicle in an Affected Area must:
- get tested and receive a negative test result in the 7 days prior to entering Queensland, and
- be able to provide evidence of a test being undertaken in the 72 hours immediately prior to entering Queensland.
- maintain a rolling 3-day testing cycle until you leave Queensland or 14 days have passed since you were in the Affected Area, whichever is shorter.
Evidence must be made available at the Queensland border in order to enter Queensland.
Affected Areas
As defined in the QLD Freight Protocol, an Affected Area means the local government areas of Blacktown, Cumberland, Fairfield, Liverpool, Canterbury-Bankstown, Campbelltown, Georges River and Parramatta in New South Wales.
COVID-19 hotspots and mandatory testing
From 1am AEST Friday 30 July 2021 freight and logistics drivers entering Queensland from declared COVID-19 hotspots must:
- have received a negative COVID-19 test result within 7 days of entering Queensland.
- maintain a rolling 7-day routine testing cycle while you continue to travel into and out of declared COVID-19 hotspots.
Evidence must be made available at the Queensland border in order to enter Queensland.
Evidence of testing
You must be able to provide evidence of your compliance with the testing requirements under the QLD Freight Protocol.
You may at any time be requested to provide that evidence to an emergency officer (public health), including at border locations.
An SMS text message, email or written confirmation from the testing organisation can be evidence that a test has been taken and of your negative result.

The Generation 46 option of the NIPT range of tests screens for gains and losses of all 46 chromosomes (pairs 1 through 22 plus the sex chromosomes X and Y). It also includes trisomy 21, 18 and 13, and the sex chromosome number changes in the standard Generation option.
